1. AT WHAT POINT DO YOU THINK SOMEONE SHOULD CALL THEMSELVES A WRITER?

The moment you start writing. You have to manifest what you want to be. Your words have power; speak it into existence.

2. WHAT DIFFERENCE DO YOU SEE BETWEEN A WRITER AND AN AUTHOR?

A writer is someone who writes stories for their own enjoyment. An author, on the other hand, takes it a step further and get those stories published.

3. HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED WRITING UNDER A PSEUDONYM, AND WHY OR WHY NOT?

No. I am happy being me and want my readers to know the real me.

4. WHAT DO THE WORDS “WRITER’S BLOCK” MEAN TO YOU?

There are times I stare at the page, and, nothing. I just can’t get the creative juices flowing.

5. WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR WRITING PROCESS?

The most difficult part of the writing process is actually blocking the time to stay focus and write.

6. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITING OR WHEN DID YOU START?

I have always been interested in writing since high school but never thought to pursue it as a career. In college, I took a creative writing course because I was told it would make me a better legal writer. A few years ago, I took a romance writing course and wrote the first ten chapters of my novel – it is a work in progress.

7. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A WRITER WORKING ON THEIR FIRST BOOK?

Set your mind and manage your time. You will need to do so to stay focus and cross the finish line.

8. WHAT COMES FIRST FOR YOU –THE PLOT OR THE CHARACTERS — AND WHY?

The characters come first. I need to be passionate about the characters I want to write about then I decide what they should be doing.

9. HOW DO YOU USE SOCIAL MEDIA AS AN AUTHOR?

I use social media to create awareness for my book and to encourage and inspire.

10. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE PART OF PUBLISHING?

My favorite part of publishing is the design element. Seeing the vision I have for my book come to life, is an exhilarating experience. Least favorite part is marketing but it is growing on me.

11. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO AN AUTHOR WHO WANTED TO DESIGN THEIR OWN COVER?

The cover is the first thing that catches the reader’s attention. It is important that your cover embodies your vision. Sometimes only you can execute that vision.
